According To The Survey In The Year 2017 It Is Ranked As No 1 Spot Amongest The Place Visited By Tourists And Pilgrimage In Delhi. It Is Said That It Was First Built As A Small Bunglow By Sikh General Sardar Baghel Singh In 1783, Who Was Supervising The Nine Sikh Shrines In Delhi, During The Reign Of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam Second. The Most Recognizable Element Of The Gurudwara Is The Golden Dome And Tall Flagpole, Nishan Sahib.

The Gurudwara Was Originally The Bunglow Of Raja Jai Singh, Guru Harkishan In 1664 During His Stay In Delhi Resided Here. The Severe Cholera Epidemic And Smallpox Was Striking Delhi At That Time. It Is Said That Guru Harkishan Use To Serve The Unhealthy By Giving Fresh Water And Aid To Them. Sooner He Himself Was Effected By The Disease And Died In 1664. Thereafter A Small Tank Was Later Constructed By Raja Jai Singh. It Is Said That People Across The World Came Here And Take Away The Holy Water Of The Sarovar As It Is Believed To Be The Holy Water Curing All The Diseases.
