Alai Minar
Alamuddin Khilji Of Khilji Dynasty Won Several Battles And Wished To Build This Minaret As A Symbol Of Victory. Allauddin Khilji Was Very Influential And Used To Make This Tower Double The Height Of Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar, Which Was Built By Qutub-Ud-Din Aibak And His Successor Iltutmish, Was 240 Feet High. But After The Construction Of The First Floor Of Alai Minar Of 24.5 Meters, Allauddin Khilji Died In 1316. After The Death Of Khilji, The Construction Of This Tower Was Stopped.

Khilji's Descendants Did Not Even Built This Tower. This Ambitious Story Of Khilji Is Also Mentioned In The Poems Of Sufi Poet Amir Khusru. This Is An Excellent Example Of Over Ambition, That They Didn't Complete The Tower And Thus Resulted To An Incomplete Work And Failure.
