Made Up Of Red Sandstone And Marble The Minaret In Qutub Complex Is Qutub Minar. The Five Storey Tall Tower Was Started Being Constructed By Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak, The Founder Of Delhi Sultanat.

After His Death Iltutmish Completed The Rest Three Storey. Iltutmish Constructions Was Destroyed By Lightning Struck. Firoz Shah Tughlaq Worked On Replacing The Damaged Storey And Added On One More Storey To The Tower. The Complex Consists Of Quwwat -Ul- Islam Mosque And Cupola Known As Smith Folly And The Very Old And Famous Iron Pillar. The Tower's Style Is Basically Iranian, Although It Is Likely As That Of Afghanistan's Minaret Of Jam And Also Looped Bells And Garlands And Lotus Border Carving Are Found.

The Lower Three Storey Comprise Fluted Cylindrical Shafts. Earlier The General Public Was Allowed To Access The Top Minar But On 4th December 1881, 45 People Were Killed In The Stampede And Around 300 To 400 People Inside The Minar At That Time That Followed An Electricity Failure That Plunged The Tower Staircase Into Darkness. The Most Of The Victims Were Children As It Was School Timings. There After The Public Access Inside The Tower Is Being Stopped. Despite It A Massive Crowd Is Found In The Complex.
