Birla Industrial And Technological Museum (BITM) Is The First Science Museum In India. It Is The First Science Museum Setup Under The Aegis Of National Council Of Science Museums, Under The Ministry Of Culture. BITM Lies On Gurusaday Road, Kolkata With The Motto Of Science Popularization. The Director Of The Museum Is Emdadul Islam. Its Main Organs Are Its Gallery On Scientific Topics. It Has 103 Staff Members.

Birla Industrial And Technological Museum Was Set Up By The Great Industrialist Ghanshyam Das Birla At BITS, In Pilani In A Hall Of The Tower Building. Ten Year Later This Museum Was Shifted To Its Present Place. The Great Physicist And The Director Of The National Physical Laboratory, Mr K S Krishnan Mooted This Second Museum. Bidhan Chandra Roy Impressed By The Deutsche Museum Of Munich Asked The G D Birla For A Help And Thus Later On, The Three Storied Victorian Style Architectural Building Along The 5 Acre Land Of Birla Park Was Used For The Museum. There Are Children Gallery, The Mathematics Gallery, Satellite Units Like Bardhaman Science Centre And National Science Camp, Dhenkanal Science Centre Made Up. A Wonderful Museum Need To Be Visited For Sure.
