The Mausoleum In New Delhi Built Up Of Sandstone And Marble Is The Safdarjung Tomb. It Was Built Up By The Late Mughal Mirza Muqim Abul Mansur Khan Who Was Also Popularly Known As Safdarjung In 1754. He Was A Very Rich And Powerful. With The Death Of The Emperor Muhammad Shah Of Mughal Empire, He Moved To Delhi.

When Muhammad Shah Ahmad Shah Ascended The Throne Of The Mughal Empire In Delhi, Safdarjung Was Made The Chief Minister. But He Was The Main Leader And The King Was Just A Puppet. And Thus The Family Of The King Called In For Hindu Maratha Confederacy To Get Them Rid Of Safdarjung And After The Civil Strife He Was Thrown Out Of Delhi And Died In 1754.

After His Death His Son Nawab Shija-Ud-Daula Pleaded The Emperor To Erect A Tomb For His Father And Later Architect Abyssininan Designed This Tomb. Here A Large Square Garden Surrounding The Tomb And A Channel Of Water Is Perfectly Built. The Pavilions Led To The Jangli Mahal, Moti Mahal, Badsha Pasand Respectively. A Mind Pleasing Place To Be Visited.
