Gordan Sanderson (1886-1915) Was An Officer With The Archaeological Survey Of India And Held The Reputed Position Of Superintendent, Mahomedan And British Monuments, North Circle. He Is The One Who Was Best Known For His Work In Preserving And Documentation Of The Historical Monuments Of India. Sanderson Is Said To Also Have Written "Delhi Fort: A Guide To The Buildings And Gardens", "Conversation Notes On Archaeological Arts And Antiques Of India: An Illustration Section".

Sanderson At The Peak Of This Carrier With ASI Decided To Work On The Position Of Lieutenant Of 2nd King Edward Vii's Who Owned Gurkha Riffles. On 13th October 1915, At The Age Of 28 Was Killed In The Action In France And Was Burried In Gorre British In Indian Cemetery, France. In The Mark Of His Respect ASI Erected A Monument At Qutub Minar Complex In 1919 AD. The Monument Is White Marble Sundial Installed By His Colleagues. As Sanderson Was Responsible For Extensive Excavation Work In Qutub Minar Complex.
